THIS YEAR'S VALENTINE'S DAY LOOK
I love Valentine's Day and love planning and styling my look every year. While some people might plan their outfit for a dinner out or for a certain event, I usually wear my outfit all day long if I am able to! This year I paired a white top with a pink skirt for a more pastel look that still goes along with the color scheme of this holiday. To add to the look, I also happened to have a heart shaped balloon left over from my half birthday and was able to borrow a beautiful flower bouquet that my mom was taking to a retirement party later that day.
For my top, I paired a slightly cropped lace shirt with a pink velvet skater skirt. Luckily the hem of the shirt ended up hitting perfectly with the top of the skirt although you could get a similar look by tucking in a longer lace shirt/blouse as well. Since my shirt was absolutely see-through, I wore a simple tank top underneath in a slightly nude color.
I'm a huge fan of mixing textures so I picked a pleated skirt to go with the lace top. The skirt also happened to be velvet (one of my favorite fabrics) but you a pleated skirt made from a different material would definitely work as well. I also own a pink midi skirt with pleats but since I am wearing a long sleeve top, I decided to go with the shorter skirt. I then paired my taupe, suede booties to give me some height but still keep my feet covered since it is only February after all.
I hope everyone has a great Valentine's Day! Thanks for reading!
